A Christmas Carol Review

A Christmas Carol Review

During the week of November, the Pine Crest dance department had their production of A Christmas Carol. The production had over sixty members, made up of both students and faculty. Seniors Nakura Stout, Elisabeth Crane, Morgan Lavender and Kacey Suchocki were the leads in the cast A production which was on Thursday November 10th and on Friday November 11th. Seniors Callie Leone, Nicole Golden, Callie Friedman, and Emma Colton were the leads in the cast B production which was on Saturday November 12th and Sunday November 13th. Senior Nick Greiner played the role of Spirit Past Cavalier, and William Keiser played the role of young scrooge.

All the dancers put in countless hours which included Saturday rehearsals. Sophomore Niki Wadwah said “It was fun. We became close to so many people while spending all day Saturday at school especially during the rehearsals during the week of school.” Sophomore Laura Herman commented ,“It was a great opportunity. It was such a professional performance. It was a great opportunity to be involved in.” Freshmen Gabby Izhakoff stated “It was a great experience. I can’t wait ‘til next year.” Mrs. Cichoski,, an assistant director in the ballet gave her take on the performance: “This year’s ballet was a lot of fun. Mrs. Gooden made it a family affair. My husband and my son were able to be in a family production. It was great to have my family with me at rehearsals on Saturday. It was fun to be part of the Pine Crest dance department family.  They both did a wonderful job.” Ms. Trammell, a new addition to the Pine Crest Dance Department said, “This was my first time getting the opportunity to see a Pine Crest Ballet, and I was so impressed with the entire production.”, and anyone who saw the ballet would agree with this statement.

From the excellent dancers, to the beautiful costumes, to the elaborate scenery as a whole A Christmas Carol was a stunning production.  Mrs. Gooden directed A Christmas Carol, and this was her twenty fifth ballet at Pine Crest. She would like to congratulate the cast and crew for four fantastic performances. She said that A Christmas Carol was a joy to prepare and a pleasure to present. In addition to this, the Pine Crest community would like to congratulate the dancers on their effort and hard work. We cannot wait to see next year’s performance.
