Half of the NFL season is officially in the books. I’ve decided to take a look back at my predictions from the beginning of the  year to see how accurate I’ve been up to this point.

*Note: Standings are as of 9:50 p.m. Sunday night*

AFC East

Actual Standings: Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bills

My Prediction: Patriots, Dolphins, Jets, Bills

I predicted that Rex Ryan would be fired by this week. That’s not going to happen, but I have faith in my prediction- the Jets will fall.

AFC North

Actual Standings: Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers

My Prediction: Bengals, Ravens, Browns, Steelers

I think this division is still wide open. The Browns can do this! I really think that the Bengals will fall apart without Geno Atkins and Leon Hall.

AFC South

Actual Standings: Colts, Titans, Texans, Jaguars

My Prediction: Texans, Colts, Titans, Jaguars

You can’t blame me for this one. How was I supposed to know that Schaub and Locker would pull a Freaky Friday and switch bodies on us?

AFC West

Actual Standings: Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers, Raiders

My Prediction: Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders

Andy Reid hasn’t managed to screw up a game this year because of his horrendous clock management skills. He is overdue.

NFC East

Actual Standings: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Giants

My Prediction: Cowboys, Redskins, Giants, Eagles

This division is a mess. Anything can happen the rest of the way.

NFC North

Actual Standings: Packers, Lions, Bears, Vikings

My Prediction: Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings

The Bears and Packers haven’t played their Monday night game, so this is subject to change. The only thing I wrote in my predictions about the Vikings was “Regression!” I’ll pat myself on the back for that one.

NFC South

Actual Standings: Saints, Panthers, Falcons, Buccaneers

My Prediction: Falcons, Saints, Panthers, Buccaneers

I just can’t believe that the Falcons turned out this bad. I wrote that this was a “do or die” year for them. It appears that they have chosen the latter.

NFC West

Actual Standings: Seahawks, 49ers, Cardinals, Rams

My Prediction: 49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Cardinals

The 49ers and Seahawks are two of the top five teams in the league, so this division is still up for grabs. It always takes me a few weeks to remember too that Jeff Fisher is wildly overrated as a coach.
