The annual Jenga tournament once again brought excitement to the Upper School as students gathered to compete in one of the most-favored advisory events of the year. Each advisory picked a team of students to face off in the bracket-style competition, where whichever group wins continues on to the next round to face the next group. As each game got closer to the finale, tension rose, and the rooms filled with shouts of excitement and cheers. 

This year, our impressive winner was Mrs. Peiretti’s advisory. Sofia Kelly Del Valle ’26 said, “I was so excited to make it to the finals. It’s a fun game that everyone can participate in, and I could feel the Panther Pride in the room.”

While the students have fun building towers and stacking blocks, the tournament is about much more. The game encourages students to work with their advisees to communicate, support, and strategize.  They learn that effective communication skills are necessary and that creating a strategy is often helpful.

The Jenga tournament lets all the students participate, whether or not they are actually the ones playing. The game is an inclusive environment where students can connect outside of the classroom and have fun with a little friendly competition. Whether playing, cheering, watching, or just showing team effort, the students all found fun ways to interact and partake in the game. This year, Mrs. Knight’s advisory won best sportsmanship, Dr. Nicholas won the best advisory participation, and Sra. Machado won the most spirited advisory award.

The Jenga tournament continues to be an entertaining way to show spirit and school pride while bringing students together in a memorable way.
