On Tuesday, October 24, Pine Crest hosted its annual Family Feud game in honor of homecoming week. Family Feud was held in Stacy Auditorium, led by student council president Matthew Amunategui along with Steering Committee heads, Gabi Gomez and Hadley Edwards.
First, the senior team quickly took a strong lead over the juniors, allowing them to advance past the first round. Before the following round between the sophomores and freshman, each grade had the opportunity to perform a song for the lip sync battle. The freshmen performed an impressive rendition of “I’m Just Ken” from the recent Barbie movie, scoring highly with the judges. Following the freshmen were the sophomores, who unfortunately could not perform their entire song due to technical difficulties, leaving them in last place. The juniors danced to Diana Ross’ “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” earning high scores with the judges for their fashionable suits. Although all the performances were enjoyable, the seniors stole the show with their charismatic rendition of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” where their costumes, dance moves, and energy led to their victory.
Following the lip sync battle, the sophomores beat the freshmen in the next round of Family Feud. Finally, the seniors took on the sophomores for a final round, where the two groups played a guessing game with baby pictures of Upper School’s football players and cheerleaders. Despite close scores, the seniors ultimately reigned victorious.
The entirety of the Upper School greatly enjoyed this homecoming activity and looked forward to the events soon to come: Wednesday’s Homecoming Court Assembly, Thursday’s Flag Football game, and Friday’s pep rally.
