Rice Krispie Treats: 5 Different Ways to Make This Classic Dessert

Original, Cookies & Cream, S’mores, Birthday Cake, and Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats!

This week, I decided to make a well-known, no-bake dessert, along with its many variations: Rice Krispie Treats. Although national Rice Krispie Treat Day was in September, who would not want one any other day of the year? Below are the recipes for the five different types of Rice Krispie treats that I made: Original, Cookies & Cream, S’mores, Birthday Cake, and Strawberry. Be sure to watch the video and read the directions to make a variety of these tasty treats.

Original

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Krispie cereal

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

About 20 marshmallows

Directions:

  1. Pour the Rice Krispie cereal in a medium-sized bowl, then set the bowl aside.
  2. On a stovetop, melt butter on low heat.
  3. Once butter is fully melted, add about 20 marshmallows, and stir until melted.
  4. Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture into the bowl with the cereal.
  5. Mix together, then spread the Rice Krispie treats in a 8×8 square pan.
  6. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
  7. Cut into squares, then enjoy!

 

Cookies & Cream

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Krispie cereal

About 15 oreos, crushed

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

About 30 marshmallows

Directions:

  1. Pour the Rice Krispie cereal in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add about 15 crushed oreos into the bowl, then set the bowl aside.
  3. On a stovetop, melt butter on low heat.
  4. Once butter is fully melted, add about 30 marshmallows, and stir until melted.
  5. Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture into the bowl with the cereal and the oreos.
  6. Mix together, then spread the cookies & cream Rice Krispie treats in a 8×8 square pan.
  7. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
  8. Cut into squares, then enjoy!

 

S’mores

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Krispie cereal

1 1/2 chopped Hershey bars

½ cup Teddy Grahams

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

About 30 marshmallows

Directions:

  1. Pour the Rice Krispie cereal in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add the chopped Hershey bars and the teddy grahams into the bowl, then set aside.
  3. On a stovetop, melt butter on low heat.
  4. Once butter is fully melted, add about 30 marshmallows, and stir until melted.
  5. Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture into the bowl with the cereal, the chocolate, and the teddy grahams.
  6. Mix together, then spread the s’mores Rice Krispie treats in a 8×8 square pan.
  7. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
  8. Cut into squares, then enjoy!

 

Birthday Cake

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Krispie cereal

¼ cup Funfetti cake mix (just the cake mix, do not make the batter)

¼ cup rainbow sprinkles

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

About 30 marshmallows

Directions:

  1. Pour the Rice Krispie cereal in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add the cake mix and the sprinkles into the bowl, then set aside.
  3. On a stovetop, melt butter on low heat.
  4. Once butter is fully melted, add about 30 marshmallows, and stir until melted.
  5. Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture into the bowl with the cereal, the cake mix, and the sprinkles.
  6. Mix together, then spread the birthday cake Rice Krispie treats in a 8×8 square pan
  7. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
  8. Cut into squares, then enjoy!

 

Strawberry

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Krispie cereal

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

7 1/2 ounce jar of strawberry Fluff

Directions:

  1. Pour the Rice Krispie cereal in a medium-sized bowl, then set aside.
  2. On a stovetop, melt butter on low heat.
  3. Once butter is fully melted, add the strawberry Fluff, and stir until melted.
  4. Pour the melted butter and strawberry fluff mixture into the bowl with the cereal.
  5. Mix together, then spread the strawberry Rice Krispie treats in a 8×8 square pan.
  6. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
  7. Cut into squares, then enjoy!
