Football season is in full swing at Pine Crest, and the varsity team has started strong. Approaching the homecoming game, the team has a record of 4-3 through seven games. Many fans look forward to continuing an exciting season, and the players are ready to face any challenges that come their way.

Star wide receiver Jordan Eskenazi shared his thoughts on how the season has been going. “The team has done pretty well so far,” Eskenazi said. “We’ve had two good wins and lost to some other really good teams, but we still haven’t played our best football yet.”

The Panthers started the season with a dominating win over the Miami Beach Hi-Tides. Next, Pine Crest won a thrilling overtime game against the Glades Day Gators. They came back from a 20 point deficit making the game a truly miraculous comeback victory.  The team continued their winning streak with a narrow victory over the Coral Springs Charter Panthers. The team lost their next game on the schedule to the Key West Conchs, but bounced back the next week with a win against the Westminster Academy Lions. Although the team fought hard, they lost their next two games against the Benjamin Buccaneers and the King’s Academy Lions.

Looking forward, Eskenazi said one goal for the season would be to make the playoffs. If the team works hard and plays well, it can a very real possibility for the Panthers.

This week is homecoming week, which will culminate in the football game against the La Salle Royal Lions at 7:00 PM on Friday.
