Here is what Leslie had to say about her art when she sat down with Type One this week.
T1: When did you begin to draw and paint?
Leslie: I have always been interested in art and I have always loved doing arts and crafts projects for school or during my free time when I was younger. I always enjoyed art classes throughout lower and middle school, and I’m happy that I was able to continue taking art during high school.
T1: What inspires you to create?
Leslie: Everything from daily life to pictures on Instagram always gives me ideas for projects I can do in art class. I enjoy taking art because it really is an escape, I don’t have to think about anything stressful in my life, only on what I am creating in front of me.
T1: Why is “The Invisible Man” your favorite artwork?
Leslie: I went to Spain this summer and was able to see it in person in El Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid. I found it very interesting because it made me think about its meaning painting and because of all of its different aspects.
