This week’s featured artist is Lindsay Siegel. Here is what Lindsay had to say about her artwork when she sat down with Type One:
T1: When did you begin to draw and paint?
Lindsay: I have always been interested in drawing and painting. I began my love for drawing and painting in Lower School. Middle School and Upper School art classes really gave me a chance to grow as an artist.
T1: Are you taking any art classes this year?
Lindsay: I am currently taking Studio Art AP.
T1: What have you most enjoyed about that class?
Lindsay: I really enjoy the freedom that I have in this class to work on projects that interest me.
T1: Which art class are you planning on taking next year and what are you most looking forward to in this class?
Lindsay: Next year I am planning on taking either Art Seminar AP or 2D AP to expose myself to the digital world of art.

T1: Are you currently working on anything?
Lindsay: Right now I am working on my 12 concentration pieces. My concentration is a calendar of all of the 12 months, and each month is represented by a different image.
T1: How would you define your artistic style?
Lindsay: My artistic style is very realistic. I focus on creating pieces that show the details of humans, nature, and other objects. I use pencil and colored pencil to create the real effect, and it is so rewarding to finish a project with such great results.

T1: What is your biggest inspiration for your artwork?
Lindsay: I like to use everyday objects and people around me as inspiration for my artwork. This helps to make the pieces relatable.
