Here is what Ally had to say about her art when she sat down with Type One.
T1: When did you begin to draw?
Ally: I took Drawing and Painting I my freshman year, but I was interested in art before that.
T1: Are you taking any art classes this year? If so, what are you most looking forward to in this class?
Ally: I’m taking art seminar this year, and I’ve been most excited for Art Basel!
T1: What is your biggest inspiration for your art?
Ally: I really like art from ancient Greece and Rome because of their depictions of the human form and their obsession with harmony and perfect order.

T1: How would you define your artistic style? Are there any specific artists whose style you draw from?
Ally: I wouldn’t say I draw style from anybody specific, but I focus my art mostly on the human body and sometimes skeletal forms
T1: Are you currently working on anything?
Ally: Mrs. Smith wanted us to do a project involving books, so I tore pages out of a book and altered them to say other things. I’m not explaining it well, but it was inspired by Tom Phillips, who painted over an entire book to create a new story.
