[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]On November 11th and 12th, a group of Pine Crest students will be performing this year’s musical, All Shook Up. All Shook Up is an American jukebox musical built around Elvis Presley’s music. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play The Twelfth Night and takes place in the 1950s, when a guitar playing rebel and a small town girl’s dream help a small town discover the magic of rock & roll. The cast has been rehearsing since early September and working very hard to prepare for the show.
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]Senior Marisol Beaufrand plays the role of Natalie/Ed and has been involved in various musicals all four years of high school. Marisol’s role is a small-town mechanic who dreams of finding the perfect guy to fall in love with. One day, Chad, a tough motorcycle guy, rides into town. Chad doesn’t fall in love with her, so she decides to cross-dress and get close to Chad to make him fall in love with her and this leads to the town spinning into a whirlwind of confusion.
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]“I’m excited because I think it’s really fun to get to play the sweet and innocent version of Natalie who is a small town girl looking for love,” Marisol said. “Then, I also get to play Ed, who is Natalie dressed up as a guy and is kind of more tough and is always being caught off guard by these new complications. It’s super exciting to see all the other characters plots intertwine throughout the whole show and how some small actions end up completely changing the course of the show.”
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]Marisol and the rest of the All Shook Up cast are looking forward to the performance in November and they hope everyone can go out and see it.
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]“People should come see the show because the situations that the characters are put into are hilarious,” Marisol said. “There’s a character for everyone. Also, the music in the show is so good. It’s all Elvis music that’s been re-purposed to have an ensemble backing. It’s a high-energy show that always keeps the audience on the edge of their seats with big songs and huge dance numbers, so I hope everyone comes out to see All Shook Up.”
