The Senior Class of 2015 has already begun to adopt many of the popular Pine Crest senior traditions, including the painting of senior parking spots and the annual Senior Sunrise. Along with these two noteworthy events, Pine Crest seniors, along with seniors from across the country, customarily change their name on Facebook, wittily using a popular saying, title, brand name, etc. that incorporates their name. This phenomenon originally began because of many universities’ increased interest in the social media activity of applicants. The precautionary action inevitably transformed into a fun, humorous tradition that Pine Crest seniors continue to follow. Each year, the names become more and more creative, and this year is no exception. This list is a countdown of five of this year’s best senior Facebook names.
5. Got Malik: Inspired by the slogan “Got Milk” on several milk cartons and commercials, Kaely Malik decided to incorporate her last name, Malik, into this popular slogan. Kaely said, “I got the idea when I was a junior, and I had been waiting to finally post it on Facebook so everyone could see my creativity.”
4. Dino Sword: This creative name was created by senior Nicole Swords, who was able to incorporate the word “dinosaur” into her name. She used her real last name, Swords, in the second half of the word dinosaur. This name was thought to be hilarious by several students and sure is very creative.
3. Chinés Takeout: This name takes the #3 spot because of its originality and its use of Inés de Bracamonte’s first name in the word “Chinese.” Many students have chuckled when coming across this name on Facebook. It is awesome that this student was able to incorporate food into her name because who doesn’t like to eat Chinese food?
2. Armand Hammer: Armin Garcia came in with a close second using the popular cleaning brand, “Arm and Hammer.” Armin was able to create a unique name connecting his real name to the name of the brand. Names like this have already inspired underclassmen to start connecting popular brand names to their own names.
1. Kosches Slippery When Wet: Taking the #1 spot is Erica Kosches, who was able to find a way to humorously use the slogan “Caution, slippery when wet.”This senior name has been regarded as the funniest by many high school students, and will surely go down as one of the best senior names of all time at PC.
