For the 2024-2025 school year Pine Crest Administration has instilled a new uniform policy along with other changes to the handbook. Updates were made to allow students to be comfortable while maintaining the polished Pine Crest look.
One of the major changes is the broader range of bottoms students can wear. In the past students were restricted to exclusively the Lands’ End bottoms. Students can now wear chino shorts in black or khaki with a 4-inch inseam from any brand, as long as they have a button and zipper closure.
“I really like the new uniform policy,” said Valentina O’Hara ’27. “I’m way more comfortable in school now and can learn better.” Jogger-style pants are also now allowed in black, khaki, green, or gray. Additionally, jeans are also allowed in black or blue as long as they are in good condition — no tears, fraying, or low-rise fits.
Maria Tobon ’27 expressed her opinions on the new rules: “The changes to the handbook are great. I feel that we can all agree that this change was needed and effective.”
The new policy allows for a balance between comfort and making sure our school’s appearance remains cohesive and aligned with its values.
