Jacob Goldberg (PC ’12 and Harvard ’16 ) has spent the last three years providing a summer camp experience for children with special needs and disabilities. Jacob holds an annual event during Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, including a 5K and one mile run along with the support of many outstanding vendors willing to donate their time and services. Not only does 100% of the donations goes towards Quest, Inc. and Camp Quest, but also this fundraiser has massively increased over the years in its success. Coordinating this spectacular event since June, there was a remarkable turnout of hundreds of runners and sponsors that participated.
January 19th at the Jewish Community Center in Boca Raton, Together We See eyeRun featured everything from the Miami Heat dancers to Jamba Juice and Naked Juice vendors; it was an outstanding event! Following the 5K, awards were distributed by age groups all the way up to 75 & older! With passionate racers, delicious barbeque, a bounce house and a plethora of refreshments, every single person left the event elated.
Jacob shares, “Executing such an event and holding onto this fundraiser since its inception in 2007, seeing it grow from $10,000 to over $100,000 over the years, is so incredible to me. Incredible not in the sense that I am proud of myself, but incredible in the sense that the reward is so great and the feeling you get from such service is indescribable. The reward, seeing the lives of so many deserving children change, makes all this so worthwhile and more. I foresee Together We See growing even more as we strive to make a difference in the world with one act of random kindness at a time.”
We hope to hear more of Jacob’s great endeavors and wish for his fundraiser to continue flourishing.
