On Tuesday, October 15th, seventy-eight PC Upper School students were inducted into the National English Honor Society (NEHS) and the Rho Kappa Society (Social Sciences), respectively. This is the second annual year that Pine Crest has staged this induction in order to recognize the achievements of its students. The students who were selected represented the zenith of their classes in these subjects. In order to qualify for these societies, students were recommended by their teachers based on performance in their classes last year, and then they submitted applications for admittance. Seventeen seniors were welcomed into both organizations, fourteen were were inducted into Rho Kappa, and seventeen Seniors and thirty Juniors were inducted into the NEHS. In the ceremony, students were recognized by signing their names in a journal and proceeding to accept white and red carnations. Afterward, there was a brief reception held outside the ICI which included cake and refreshments. Overall, it was a great ceremony to honor the distinguished PC students for their hard work.
