This past weekend the “yerds,” self-proclaimed yearbooks nerds, spent 10 hours preparing for the up and coming yearbook deadline. Because working on the yearbook staff has zero grade incentives, there is a core group of “yerds” who buckled down and finished the last minute touch ups. Tuesday, March 19, was the final deadline where the final pages were sent out to create a complete 2012-2013 Pine Crest Yearbook.
The moment the final pages were finished, Pine Crest shipped them off to Walsworth Publishing in Marceline, Missouri where the year book is put together and printed. Once all of the proofs are approved, Walsworth will then print and ship 850 yearbooks to the Pine. The expected release date to Seniors, who will have their final yearbook signing session with their peers at PC, will be May 17.
Editor-in-Chief, Chelsea Hartney, spoke about her experience working on the yearbook staff. “I’m fortunate to have such a creative and dedicated core staff! Everyone is so helpful and eager to work on the book. Steph Rosner, the Assistant Editor-in-Chief, and I literally live in the yearbook room, and we are so relieved that the book is almost out of our hands. We’re really proud of how it is turning out! There are so many other people without whom this book surely would not have been created: Alana Steinberg, Nicole Farchi-Segal, and Yael Lederman spent their weekends in the room with us. The rest of the staff has been great as well. Also of course, having Mr. Hoffman as a great source of guidance was so helpful!” said Chelsea.
Overall, the yearbook staff is elated to have the yearbook nearly finished and ready for print. Many students greatly anticipate the arrival of the final product, not to mention seeing all of the hard work pay off!
