The Multicultural Assembly, the most anticipated event of the entire school year, returned to Stacy Auditorium on Wednesday, February 5th. Pine Crest students from all three divisions and both Boca and Fort Lauderdale campuses enjoyed performances from a variety of Upper School culture clubs and groups. With acts ranging from beautiful duets to energetic dances, the Multicultural Assembly highlighted cultures from around the world, including never-before-seen dance moves from the cast of Squid Game Season 2 and popular TikTok trends from the Eastern European Club and Black Student Association.
This talent-filled event has been showcased for many years and is currently run by Mrs. Nisman, a social sciences teacher. When asked how the event would evolve, Mrs. Nisman responded, “I think that each year, as students see what their peers can do, more and more people like to get involved. I would not be surprised if we saw different clubs joining, [and] I would not be surprised to see more difficult and wider arrays of performances.”
In between each performance, our hosts this year, Ulyana Sharapova and Jahsiah Bowie, kept the audiences engaged and excited for the upcoming acts with rounds of trivia. They did an excellent job of introducing each club, and everyone applauded the hosts for resisting the urge to dance along to the many exhilarating and upbeat songs that the clubs performed.
Overall, the 2025 Multicultural Assembly exceeded all expectations. “💃🎤🤩” are the three emojis Mrs. Nisman used to describe this year’s performance, and the audience’s reaction certainly echoed her enthusiasm.
