Casey Francis could be considered, as we call it these days, a Boss; #boss-status #PennState #hashtag #swimming #fish #shealsoplayslax #athlete #swimmingalldayeveryday #Olympictrials #lax #swimmer
Casey is a swimmer at Pine Crest and will be swimming for Penn State University next year. She swims the mile, 400 IM, 500 free and 200 fly. Casey made an outstanding achievement by making the Olympic trials in the 400 IM. She swims 25,000 meters a week, which in normal units means 82020.997 feet. Casey also holds the school record in the 200 IM and the 400 IM. She will be swimming the mile, the 500 IM, and the 400 IM at Penn State.
Apart from all the facts and numbers, I had the chance to really get to know Casey during our interview. Casey came down from New York to swim here at the Pine with Coach J. Fitzgerald. Coach Fitzgerald is a very well known coach and has helped Casey throughout her college process. Casey is also gluten free, so finding her favorite lunch is not easy, but her favorite lunch at Pine Crest is chips and gluten free pasta (of course) topped with meat sauce.
I asked Casey to take me through a day in the life of Casey Francis, so here it is: Casey wakes up at 5 AM and eats a bowl of chocolate Chex Mix cereal and gets to school at 5:50AM to work out in the weight room and swim 2 miles. She eats a casual snack on the way to Spanish class. She then does the whole school routine rounded out with snacks and meals in between of course, and she finishes off the day with lacrosse practice. I asked her about her awesome art class and she said, “K money is really chill.” On Saturdays, she swims for two hours followed by lacrosse for two hours.
If you have learned anything from this you should know that Casey Francis is remarkable.
