Must-See Art in Miami
In South Florida, we are lucky to be close to so much culture and so many art exhibits in Miami. Here are just some of the many highly recommended must-see art collections in the Miami area.
ARTECHOUSE Miami adds a new flavor onto modern-day art and defies the norms of a traditional museum setup. In the heart of South Beach, ARTECHOUSE blends aspects of art and technology, which ultimately produces a brilliant digital gallery. The gallery offers a multitude of interactive experiences that appeal to people of all ages. Freshman Cecilia Piza said, “ARTECHOUSE gave a creative depiction of the art in our world and really got me interested in the arts around us.” The newest exhibition,“Infinite Space,” created by Turkish artist Refik Anadol, will be open to the public in January of 2020.
Senior Natalia Hauser said that “ARTECHOUSE is a great addition to the art scene in Miami since it incorporates all kinds of art with an element of technology that isn’t common in other exhibitions.”
Take a break from the business of your day and visit the Unicorn Factory for a time that takes you back to the good old days. This sensory experience qualifies as one of the most “Instagramable” spots in Miami, as there are countless backdrops and fun areas to take the perfect picture.
Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) still stands as one of the most glorified museums in South Florida. The museum dedicates its space to breathtaking pieces from contemporary and modern artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. With a restaurant, shops, and a spectacular view of Miami, PAMM is the perfect place to spend the afternoon with friends and family.
The notable Rubell Museum will open this December during Miami Art Week with a multitude of fabulous exhibitions and works from Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, among other brilliant artists. The Rubell Family Collection also acquires pieces from rising artists who demonstrate a unique understanding of contemporary art. The foundation serves as an incredible partnership with the Miami community, where thousands of schoolchildren from the Miami-Dade County Public Schools district are able to engage and visit the foundation every year.
Be sure to experience some of these incredible art museums and exhibits next time you are in the Miami area.
