Making personalized gifts for friends and family is a great way to show you care.

Spread holiday cheer with these fun and festive DIY gifts. They make a perfect present for any loved one, along with the fact that they are handmade and special for each person you give them to. Here are a few ideas that would make a perfect holiday present:

Mason Jar Hot Chocolate

This is a super yummy and easy to make, making it the perfect gift that anyone would love!

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons powdered creamer
  • 6 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons candy canes, chopped into small pieces
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows

Instructions:

-Layer the powdered creamer, powdered milk, powdered sugar and cocoa powder in the bottom of a pint wide-mouth mason jar. Then add the chocolate chips and candy canes and place the mini marshmallows on top to fill the rest of the jar. Add a lid and attach a printable recipe tag (see below).

-When ready to use, remove the marshmallows from the top of the jar and mix the remaining ingredients together. Add ½ cup of the mix to 1 cup of boiling water in a mug and stir until completely combined. Top with marshmallows and enjoy!

-If you want to make a larger size, use a quart size wide-mouth mason jar and simply double all the ingredients.

Dreidel Box

If there is a certain little gift that you want to give your friends for Hanukkah, here’s the perfect way to give it to them. This fun, Hanukkah-themed gift wrapping is a perfect way to surprise your friends and family in the most creative and decorative way. Here’s how to make it:

Materials:

  • Patterns for dreidel box and symbols (see website link above for pattern)
  • Cardstock (your choice of colors)
  • Scissors
  • Self-adhesive paper in contrast colors 
  • Markers (optional)
  • Bow (optional)

Instructions:

-Download, print, and cut out the patterns (see link).

-Use the box pattern to cut one or more boxes from card stock. Use the patterns for the symbols to cut the shapes from the self-adhesive paper, then adhere them to the boxes. Or, use markers to add the symbols, using the patterns as your guide.

-Fold the box along the score lines and glue the tabs to secure the pointed end panels. Fill with small gifts and glue the tabs on the flat end to secure. Add a bow to the flat end, if desired.

Pretzel Hugs

Pretzels hugs are a delicious way to spread some joy, and you’ll need are a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 50 Rolos or Hugs (can do a combination of both, as well)
  • 50 pretzels
  • 50 M&M’s

Directions:

-Heat oven to 325°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.

-Place pretzels on baking sheet. Top each pretzel with one unwrapped Rolo or Hug.

-Bake for 3 to 5 minutes or until chocolate begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with either M&M, pecan half or additional pretzel. Cool completely.

Hanukkah Themed Gift Wrapping

If there is a certain little gift that you want to give your friends for Hanukkah, here’s the perfect way to give it to them. This fun Hanukkah themed gift wrapping is a perfect way to surprise your friends and family in the most creative and decorative way. 

You will need:

  • One small toilet paper roll (only the inside)
  • One piece of fabric of your choice (soft fabrics work the best)
  • Two or three pieces of silver ribbon (type that curls with scissors)
  • Decorative stickers to go on the outside of fabric

Instructions:

-Take your gift of choice and store it inside the toilet paper roller. If you desire, paint the roll a certain color to give it your own personal touch.
