In a twist on PC’s usual Spring Scenes performance, in which seniors direct comedy skits and hold auditions, the roles were reversed for the Winter Carnival’s “Winter Scenes” performance. The show was completely directed by underclassmen with a cast almost exclusively made up of seniors. The skits ranged from original pieces, such as “The Jig-is-Uppamus” by junior Andrew Lott and another by junior Joey May, to popular SNL shorts, to a scene from the Harry Potter spoof, A Very Potter Musical. Some favorites were Ayse’s impersonation of the ever-popular “Bon Qui Qui” and Sammie Spector’s awkward “Gertie” who would rather hang out with her mom at the school dance than socialize with anyone her own age. The most amazing part about the show was that it was put together in such a short span of time – “We really came together to put on a great performance,” says senior Ivy Kilpatrick. Even if it was hectic backstage, you couldn’t tell when everyone was in character onstage, putting on a show to rival Saturday Night Live.
