It has been 20 years since Full House has been on the screens for television viewers, but everything changed when Full House was given a whole series reboot by Netflix almost a year ago. Netflix ordered a full thirteen new episodes of the show, and they just premiered February 26th exclusively on Netflix. Fans have always been adamant about bringing the show back, and now thanks to Netflix, their dreams have come true.
The reboot is set 29 years after the original show started and stars most of the same cast. Missing however, are the famous Olsen twins. While they were once fan favorites, now the sisters are not very confident in their acting ability, and wish to stay out of the new series. However, other stars, such as John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Couelier all returned to the reboot.
Fuller House follows D.J. Tanner (Danny Tanner’s daughter from the original series) as she becomes a recent widow, and has to raise all three of her children alone. She then recruits her other sister, Stephanie, and her best friend, Kimmy, as they all move in together to raise a fuller house. The premise is very similar to the original show, but instead of a single father raising three children, it is a single mother raising three children. With a familiarity and a nostalgic feel to the original show, Fuller House is set to be an enjoyable new series.
This is not the first time Netflix has revived an old TV show, as just earlier this year, they revived Gilmore Girls for another season. Netflix has begun to realize their potential with their brand, and are using their power wisely, reviving cancelled TV shows to exclusively stream them on their own website.
The idea of Fuller House has gotten many fans feeling nostalgic, and many were ecstatic to finally see the series in their Netflix queue.
