The 31st of October is regarded as the day in which we celebrate childhood! This is the day you can dress up as a princess or your favorite superhero. The day you carve funny faces into huge pumpkins. The day you can stuff your face with as many Kit-Kats you want, and no one can stop you. This day of children’s revelry celebrated by all is Halloween.
However, it is a known fact that around the age of 12 or 13, we start to care less about the amount of candy bars that fill our plastic pumpkin bags and having the scariest costume in the class. So one may ask, what is it that teens do to enjoy their Halloween nowadays?
1) Halloween Party! Dress all out, drink some ghoulish punch, smile at the crazy costume that one kid has, dance awkwardly with your friends to the Halloween classic Thriller, and enjoy that one fall night were you can party with the monsters.
2) Halloween Sleepover! This Halloween idea is for the girls of PC. Nothing is better than hanging out in your PJ’s with your best friends, making delicious Halloween snacks, and staying up till 3am watching scary horror movies. But nothing says boys wouldn’t enjoy that too!
3) Go Trick-or-Treating! Despite the typically teen sass that trick-or-treating is “childish”, you know you can’t resist pillowcases full of free sugary goods. So be creative, make a crazy costume. Then go out till 10pm and come back to indulge in your prizes.
4) Be a Monster! Ever had that one annoying, little kid on your block that sticks his tongue out as you walk by him? Well, this is an opportunity for you to get back. Find the scariest costume you can, be it a zombie costume or a creepy clown costume, and hide in the shadows of your house. As he approaches your door anticipating the sweet reward that is candy, pop out and scream. Watch him run away in fright, full of pride that you put the trick in trick-or-treat, and finally silenced the annoying pest.
5) Spend the night with Meow. Lastly, if you are like some people, you might enjoy a relatively toned down Halloween. While periodically skimming the candy bowl, enjoy the night by watching a classic Halloween movie like “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” with your pets.
