Movie Nirvana
Doesn’t the movie theater get monotonous after a while? I’m not talking about the movies, but the theater itself. Isn’t it be a bit ugly, boring, smelly, and sad? When friends invite me to the theater, I have to ask myself, “Do I really want to get dressed up and sit in that uncomfortable chair for two hours to watch a horrible movie? No.” So, I usually end up at home, watching a romance movie that details the relationship I’ll never have (ex. The Notebook).
One trip to iPic Cinema in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park and that all changed. Suddenly, I wanted to go to the movies all the time. With forest-inspired hideaways and a candlelit entrance, the whole lobby has an ambiance that could make the worst crackberry put down her phone for a moment and admire the room’s beauty. Premium Seating costs $14 and includes comfy leather recliners. For $24, the fabulous Mizner Park theater offers Premium Plus Seating with reclining chairs, pillows, blankets, even free popcorn! And I, being a food-junkie, was so happy to learn that iPic has a full menu to supply my constant cravings without me having to get up during my movies (the Premium Plus servers bring the food to viewers!). They have dishes like mini Angus Sliders, Truffle Fries, Mexican-style Nachos, Chocolate-Peanut Butter Smore Pizza, and the list goes on. And, if I forget to order food because I’m too busy laughing during the movie, it’s okay! Tanzy, the restaurant downstairs, offers the same menu and even more choices, not to mention a gorgeous lounge.
My friends now know, if the movie isn’t playing at iPic, I wait until it’s on DVD in my living room to see it. The iPic Theater glamorizes the cinematic experience and makes moviegoers feel like they are A-list stars the minute they walk in; and with their busy schedules, Pine Crest students deserve to feel like that once in a while. I love going there as much as I can; everyone should definitely check it out.
