About Us

The PC Paw Print is a digital media publication produced by Upper School students from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 1945, the original paper published under the name The Pine Crest Gazette. In the 1950s, the name changed to Sand Spur denoting the prickly spurs found near the beaches in Florida, where the original campus resided. In 1975, students at the new campus wanted to create a new name for the paper, so the name changed for to Type One. In 2011, Type One moved from a print newspaper to an online only digital media publication. In 2019, the students of the Upper School voted to change the name to The PC Paw Print. Today, the staff of The Paw Print consists of over 30 students who meet outside of school hours to produce and run the website and is advised by Mr. Nicholas Lowe. The Paw Print publishes monthly throughout the school year and uses WordPress to run the online content.
