It is easy for some to exhaust all of the shows Netflix has to offer even with their monthly additions, so many fans were happy to hear that this month Netflix pledged to make half of their shows originals. This means that there will be more new content for watchers than ever before. Netflix is already starting to fulfill this promise by adding eight new shows, movies, and specials this November.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
This new Netflix series already has a fan following form the original Gilmore Girls from the early 2000s.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
“I’m really happy it’s on Netflix because now I can watch it whenever I want,” junior Sophie Sanda said. “It always puts me in a good mood.”[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
On November 25, the four chapters of this new series will have their debut. Each chapter is 90 minutes, covering each of the four seasons: summer, fall, winter, spring. Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Vanessa Marano and Yanic Truesdale will all continue to play their roles that audiences have come to love.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
The plot details are still ambiguous, but new cast members are set to join the team and modern twists on this new revival may help to soothe fans like Pine Crest junior Haydn LeMay who has some hesitations.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
“I love Gilmore Girls and feel like it is such a good type of show,” Haydn said, “but I think reunion shows are never as good as the originals because television just isn’t the same as it used to be”.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]

The Crown[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]Netflix’s drama, House of Cards, is a fictional show about the American political system, and it has become one of their most coveted original shows. It seems smart that Netflix would release a show about the British political system to attract audiences from overseas.[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
[spacer height=”10px” id=”2″] “I have never watched House of Cards, but I might give The Crown a try because Netflix does well with its political fictions,”senior Matt Fine says. [spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
The Crown is a little different from House of Cards in that it is based on the true story of Queen Elizabeth II taking the crown at such a young age. This series will take us from 1947 to present day, following the life of Elizabeth II. Clare Foy will take on the major role of Queen. Her husband, Prince Phillip will be played by Doctor Who star Matt Smith. Its release will mark Netflix’s first UK series as well as it’s most expensive one. Budgeted at over $142 million, The Crown is sure to be visually beautiful at least. The Crown premieres on November 4. [spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
