Jingle Ball is an iconic event for South Florida pop music fans who can always rely on artists from the billboards to make an appearance. It is just around the corner; starting December 1st in Dallas, TX, the concert is rounding out its 15th anniversary this year, playing in eleven locations, including New York at Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles at the Staples Center, and Miami on December 18th at the BB&T Center. The lineup has just been released, and offers a great combination of the well-known hottest artists and new musicians looking to make a debut.
Headliners The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, and Calvin Harris are scheduled to perform, as well as other artists including, Five Seconds of Summer, Fifth Harmony, Zedd, Shawn Mendes, ToveLlo, Charlie Puth, Hailee Steinfeld, R City, Conrad Sewell, and finally Dnce. However, for the Y100 show in Florida, Selena Gomez and Calvin Harris will not be performing, but the remaining sensational acts are there to keep the show well rounded. These world-renowned headliners are definitely stirring up buzz about the lineup, and will prove to be great company around the several up-and-coming artists as well.
Even though the band DNCE is on the road to stardom, it for sure doesn’t lack artists who are new to fame, including former member of the Jonas Brothers Band, Joe Jonas. The band is scheduled to start off the performance with its new single, “Cake by the Ocean,” which is gaining momentum. This new dance-pop song was composed by band members, Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and Jinloo Lee. Frontman, Joe Jonas and the other band members are confident that the group’s rising popularity will sky rocket when they release their first album: Swaay- EP.
Artist Fetty Wap was just added to the concert lineup. He is best known for his 2014 single, “Trap Queen,” peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He is known mainly as a rapper but has also released Hip hop and R&B songs. Other songs such as “My Way” and “679” continue to grow in popularity, as he continues to release more hit records. Sophomore Ben Queen commented, “I’m excited about Fetty Wap and cannot wait to see him live.” He is a great addition to the lineup and will attract many fans.
The year’s concert is destined to be a great show with all of these amazing artists performing. I can’t wait to go to Jingle Ball myself and see all these artists perform live!
