When it comes to painting parking spots and watching the sunrise, no one does it better than the Pine Crest Seniors. These exciting traditions mark the beginning of the Class of 2016’s final year as high school students. After growing up at Pine Crest, these traditions are milestones, marking a right of passage that truly embodies leadership and passion.
Even though sunny summer days have come to an end, the seniors managed to visit the beach on Friday, August 21, to watch the beautiful sunrise and enjoy a delicious breakfast. This experience was a special moment for seniors, reflecting on old memories and creating a morning to remember on the beach with lifelong friends and classmates. Senior Isabelle Turner stated, “The senior sunrise was definitely something to remember. It was such an amazing sight, and I think we all had a great time. I’m looking forward to the rest of the year with everyone.”
The following day, seniors gathered in the garage to paint their parking spots with creative designs, funny captions, and crazy colors. The combination of hilarious slogans and artistic paintings seems representative of this senior class’s creativity, wit, and style.
The rise of the new senior class has made many younger students even more excited for their opportunity to lead the school in the near future. Junior Drisha Gwalani expressed how eager she was to participate in next year’s traditions after seeing this year’s seniors have so much fun. She stated, “The parking spots look great this year! I’m really excited to paint my own spot next year with my classmates by my side.”
Without a doubt, the seniors have already proven that they are going to be a spirited senior class. Although it may just be a square of paint in the garage or an early activity at the beach, these historical traditions symbolize so much more. These small events mark the start of a school year, and an amazing one at that, with the senior class leading the way.
