Sadie: A Night to be Remembered
Mimes, animals, robots, country… the 2012 Sadie Hawkins dance will be written down in Pine Crest history as one of the first of many successful dances to come. While the dance may have seemed like a Halloween party in the beginning of February, it was a dance that went against conformity in all regards. Girls asked guys to the dance, it was held outside, and everyone could show up in ridiculous costumes.
“I thought the dance was very creative,” stated senior, Jacob Goldberg, “it was interesting to see everyone dress up in different kinds of costumes without holding back.”
Another unique aspect of the dance was its casual atmosphere. Ping Pong tables were set up at the dance as promised and intense chess games occurred in the student union. Also, pizza and wings were served, which added the finishing touches to this great party.
Initially, there was forecast for rain during the dance. However, the problem was solved by moving the dance floor and music to the Upper School courtyard which is covered.
Most notably, Sadie Hawkins was run by the students for the students. The combined efforts of the student council and the administration allowed the dance to be so successful. Furthermore, the Gossip Boys and The Third Wheel performed outstandingly which added to the liveliness of dance.
