Red Velvet Cookies and Cream Bars

Tasty red velvet cookies and cream bars right out of the oven.

With spring break approaching, now is the perfect time to take out your ingredients and your oven mitts and bake something new. This week, I made Red Velvet Cookies and Cream Bars: a colorful, unique, and a tasty treat. They are easy to make and are the perfect dessert for any chocolate lover. Be sure to watch the video and read the directions to get the best results. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  1. 1 box of red velvet cake mix
  2. 1 egg
  3. ½ cup butter (melted)
  4. 2 tablespoons milk
  5. ¼ teaspoon salt
  6. About 18 Oreos
  7. 6 Hershey’s Cookies & Cream bars

 

Directions:

  1. Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper, then set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cake mix, egg, butter, milk, and salt.
  3. Place and spread batter into the pan.
  4. Lay down about 16 Oreos in the batter, then lightly press them down.
  5. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
  6. Once removed from the oven, set pan aside for about 15 minutes to cool.
  7. On low heat, melt the Hershey’s Cookies & Cream bars.
  8. Pour and spread melted chocolate in the pan.
  9. Crush the remaining Oreos and sprinkle them over the bars.
  10. Refrigerate pan for about an hour.
  11. Remove from refrigerator, cut into squares, then enjoy the red velvet cookies and cream bars!
