20-Minute Peppermint Sugar Cookies

These peppermint sugar cookies are sure to keep the winter spirit alive!

Even though the holidays are over, the weather is warm again, and the wintery spirit has melted away, it can still taste like winter once again! This week, I decided to make Recipe Girl’s Peppermint Sugar Cookies to savor winter’s chill. Not only are these cookies tasty, but they only take about twenty minutes to make! Be sure to read the directions and watch the video to get the best results. Enjoy!

Peppermint Sugar Cookies (yield: about 20 large cookies)

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (softened)

1½ cups sugar

1 egg

¼ teaspoon peppermint extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking powder

2¼ cups flour

About 15 crushed peppermint pieces

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In a large bowl, pour in the butter and the sugar, then mix.
  3. Add in the egg, and mix.
  4. Add in the peppermint and vanilla extracts, then mix until well blended.
  5. Add in the salt, baking powder, and flour, then mix until well incorporated.
  6. Add in the crushed peppermint pieces, then mix.
  7. Place dough on a cookie sheet (should make about twenty large cookies)
  8. Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden
  9. Remove from oven, wait 5 minutes for cookies to cool, then enjoy!
