This fall has been a highlight of a successful year of movies.  Here are some of the most popular and highly anticipated movies of the Fall season:

Blade Runner 2049: Released on October 6, 2017, The Blade Runner 2049 continues thirty years after the events of the first film, where a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. 

It: This widely popular horror film focuses on the Town of Derry, where the local kids are disappearing one by one, leaving behind bloody remains. In a place known as “The Barrens,” a group of seven kids are united by their terrifying and strange encounters with an evil clown and their determination to kill It. However, some people did not think this movie was as frightening as critics had described it to be. Sophomore Tiana Brannan remarked, “Honestly, the movie It wasn’t as scary as I was anticipating it to be.”

Happy Death Day: Just in time for Halloween, Happy Death Day came to theaters on October 13, 2017. This horror film centers around Tree Gelbman, a teenage girl who is trying to enjoy her birthday until she realizes that this is her final one. However, soon she realizes that she must relive her death day, over and over again, dying in a different way each time until she can figure out who her killer is.

These movies are all great options as the fall movie season starts to end.  They were considered some of the best movies of the fall by both audiences and critics, and they are worth watching in the theaters especially since they will soon be taken out to make way for a new set of winter films.
