After defeating the Buffalo Bills last Sunday by a score of 28-25, the Miami Dolphins are riding a two-game winning streak. With wins at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills, in which the Dolphins were underdogs, Miami has brought its record up to 3-4. The Dolphins just had a bye week, which gave them a great deal of time to better their imperfections in preparation for a divisional game at home the following week against the New York Jets. Miami defeated Pittsburgh 30-15 two weeks ago in game in which most people predicted that the Steelers would easily win. After their abysmal start to the season with a 1-4 record, which included an embarrassing loss at home to the Tennessee Titans, the Dolphins won two big games that saved their season from disaster. The Dolphins were led in the past two games by running back Jay Ajayi, who rushed for more than 200 yards in the past two games. Ajayi, who didn’t even travel with the team to the first game against Seattle, has risen in the absence of Arian Foster as the starting running back. [spacer height=”10px” id=”2″]
Although quarterback Ryan Tannehill has struggled throughout the course of the season, he has performed well enough the past two games to help contribute to major team wins. The Miami defense has also improved recently after a shaky start to the season.
The Dolphins are suddenly right in the thick of the AFC playoff race. Most fans and writers brushed the Dolphins aside expecting more of the same after their 1-4 start, but they have rebounded strong with these last two surprising wins. Jay Ajayi will look to carry the Dolphins to a key victory over New York on November 6. Prepare to witness an improved Miami Dolphins team rise up above all expectations and attempt to do what they have not done since 2008 – make the playoffs.
