Winter TV is here and that means so is TGIT. While fall TV usually offers a multitude of new shows, winter TV is mainly dominated by the return of loved shows. And what’s better than a Monday night Bachelor drama and Shonda Rhimes’ weekly TGIT with Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder? [spacer height=”20px”]

The Bachelor[spacer height=”20px”]

Will you accept this rose? Nick Viall, two-time runner-up and now bachelor, welcomes thirty women into his life as he journeys, once again, to find a wife. The personalities of each woman brings drama to the mansion in a unique way as they all try to win the heart of one man. Every week will get tougher for Nick, but hopefully he will finally leave the show with the love of his life.[spacer height=”20px”]

Grey’s Anatomy[spacer height=”20px”]

Season thirteen of Grey’s Anatomy continues Thursday, January 26 at 8 pm. Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the show, brings in the drama with the controversy of whether Alex Karev is going to jail for beating up Deluca for allegedly stealing Karev’s girlfriend, Jo. In contrast, not much is going on with Meridith right now, but knowing the show’s tendency to surprise, it is safe to predict that something big will happen to her soon. After all, Meredith has never gone too long being unscathed by Rhimes’ wrath. [spacer height=”20px”]

Scandal[spacer height=”20px”]

TGIT continues with season six of Scandal, another Shonda Rhimes show, at 9 pm. It is arguably the most anticipated return of the winter season because of its disappointing absensce from fall TV. Last season, Scandal ended right before the next presidential election with each candidate making their vice presidential nominations. In order to save Jake Ballard from her father, Olivia Pope added him to Mellie’s ticket. After shifting between possible picks, the finale of season five ended with Frankie Vargas walking on stage with a vice presidential choice who shocked viewers: Cyrus Bean. With all the drama that is already occurring, there is so much to look forward to this season.[spacer height=”20px”]

How to Get Away with Murder[spacer height=”20px”]

Thursday night is topped off with the continuation of season three of How to Get Away with Murder at 10 pm. After months of constantly advertising the question, “Who is under the sheet?” HTGAWM shocked viewers once again. We know that Connor, Michaela, Asher and Oliver were not in Annalise’s house prior to the start of the fire. The only member of the Keating Five we see answer Annalise’s summons was Laurel, who, from previous flashbacks, we know was severely injured by the explosion and discovered to be pregnant while in the hospital. The final episode nears its end with a man, whom we soon discover is Nate, entering the morgue. At this point, only one character can be under the sheet, and as Nate lifts the cover to reveal the body, our suspicions are confirmed: Wes is dead. By now, viewers do not think things can get any worse, but HTGAWM never seems to disappoint.[spacer height=”20px”]

In addition to TGIT and The Bachelor, the shows returning in January include fan favoritives like Sherlock, Quantico, CW’s superhero lineup of The Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow, and many othersThe new shows premiering this month include Lee Daniel’s Star, a music inspired show like Daniel’s last hit Empire, PBS’s Victoria, a drama about Queen Victoria not to be confused with Netflix’s The Crown, and Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, a second chance for Lemony Snicket’s renowned book series that stars Neil Patrick Harris.[spacer height=”20px”]
